The problem

ERP HEADtoHEAD is a long-running event series from Lumenia Consulting, an independent ERP consultancy. Each year, editions in Ireland and the UK let organisations compare leading ERP systems side by side before they buy — a decision they will live with for a decade.

The old site was dated, but the real issue sat underneath it. This is one brand selling two events, run by two legal entities, in Dublin and Birmingham, with two currencies, two VAT regimes and separate invoicing. A single shared checkout would have billed money into the wrong company: an accounting and tax problem, not a cosmetic one.

The brief: rebuild the site, and solve booking and payments properly underneath it.

One booking flow, two companies behind it: ERP HEADtoHEAD, with 2 branches — Ireland edition (Dublin entity) and UK edition (Birmingham entity).

The brand

ERP HEADtoHEAD

One brand, one site, one booking flow

  • Dublin entity

    Ireland edition

    • Euro pricing
    • Irish VAT
    • Own Stripe account
    • Own invoices
  • Birmingham entity

    UK edition

    • Sterling pricing
    • UK VAT
    • Own Stripe account
    • Own invoices

Every order is resolved to its entity before payment, so money, tax and paperwork never cross over.

Design decisions

Credibility first. People arrive weighing a serious purchase, so the home page puts the track record directly beneath the promise, and each event appears as a live card with a countdown and its booking status.

One brand, two clearly scoped journeys. Shared brand content is written once; each event page surfaces only what matters for that edition, and the choice of event carries through to the right currency and company at checkout.

A design system that holds up in the browser, not just in Figma. Five reusable templates cover the whole journey, from first visit to confirmed registration, on desktop and mobile.

Content modelled for a real event, not a brochure. Sessions, sponsors, venues and schedules live in structured ACF fields, so the team manages an event rather than a pile of loose pages.

The hard part: the booking engine

This is the part most designers hand off. Here I built it, working on it together with Adam, Loco's project manager.

The requirement was one seamless booking flow that could still take payment into two different Stripe accounts, in two currencies, with the correct VAT and invoice for each entity. Two obvious routes were tested and ruled out: a third-party multi-Stripe plugin, and native Stripe Payment Links. Neither handled two entities, two currencies and correct invoicing cleanly.

The answer was a bespoke WordPress plugin, built in-house, on top of WooCommerce and The Events Calendar Pro. It resolves each order to its entity before payment, then routes it to that entity’s Stripe account and invoice.

Four steps from places to paid

  1. Places

Group rates, net price, VAT and the billing entity, all shown up front.

  2. Your details

Who pays, and who should receive the invoice.

  3. Attendees

One record per delegate, with the days each one attends.

  4. Review and pay

Payment taken by the Stripe account of the right entity.

Throughout, an off-the-shelf ticketing platform was put to the client honestly as the lower-effort route. The recommendation was made on the merits, not to win the build — they chose ownership.

Result

The new site and booking engine are live at erpheadtohead.com, taking real bookings for both editions. Lumenia runs both events from one website and one admin, without third-party ticketing fees, and with full control over pricing, content and orders.
